Interview with Film Director Neer Musa Shelter on His Oscar-Qualified Short PERSPECTIVES

Writer/Director Neer Musa Shelter grew up on cargo ships around the world before serving in the military.

His multi-cultural life experiences have awoken a unique insight that informs his writing, which has resulted in a multi-award winning slate of feature and pilot films that appeal to a global audience.

His live action short film PERSPECTIVES is based on the true story of a tense encounter between a soldier and a suspected suicide bomber.

In this thought provoking film, Neer’s film is not about taking sides in the Israeli-Palestinian divide, the film serves as a poignant reminder of the influence that your own biased perspective has when forming opinions on characters.

After taking home the top prize and the prize for best screenplay at the 39th St Kilda Film Festival, PERSPECTIVES qualified to be considered for a 2024 Academy Award.
