Short Film Documentary ”Stranger at the Gate” by Director Joshua Seftel

Joshua Seftel is known for directing the Emmy-winning breakthrough series Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, the feature film War, Inc. starring John Cusack, Marisa Tomei and Ben Kingsley.
Joshua received his first Emmy nomination at age 22 with his documentary Lost and Found about Romania’s orphaned children.
He then followed it with several documentaries including the political campaign film Taking on the Kennedys, selected by Time Magazine as one of the “ten best of the year”; the underdog sports film The Home Team which premiered at SXSW, just to name a few.
He continues to helm the ongoing documentary series he created, Secret Life of Muslims, a Peabody Award Finalist and Emmy nominee. The timely personal short films which combat Islamophobia have more than 70 million views to date.
His newest documentary, a riveting true story Stranger at the Gate, has been nominated for an Academy Award. The film won a Special Jury Prize at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival and has been praised by top media outlets.

Short Film ”Night Ride” by Director Eirik Veiten

Director and writer Eirik Veiten wrote and directed his first acclaimed short FRIENDLY PEOPLE in 2010. He has written and directed 14 short films.
His work includes different genres and stretches from high realism to stylized comedy.
His recent short film NIGHT RIDE was awarded the Audience Award at The Norwegian Short Film Festival and has since won 5 awards at festivals around the world.
It has also been nominated for an Academy Award in the Live Action Short Film category for this year’s Oscars.

Oscar Nominated Short Film ”The Red Suitcase” by Cyrus Neshvad

Cyrus Neshvad is a Luxembourg director and he has directed several short films including THE ORCHID, ANTOINE, SON and PORTRAITIST to name a few.
Collectively these films have officially been selected in over 300 festivals, over 30 of them Oscar-qualifying. PORTRAITIST qualified for the Oscars in 2020 and won 55 awards.
Currently, Cyrus Neshvad is developing his first feature film "THE SHELTER" supported by the Film Fund Luxembourg.
But we are here today to talk about his very moving and emotionally engaging, the Oscar nominated short film The Red Suitcase.

Oscar Nominated IVALU Short Film by Anders Walter

Anders Walter is an OSCAR winning film director and screenwriter. He won for his short film HELIUM in 2014 and 9 METER was shortlisted for an OSCAR in 2013.
Anders directed his first feature film, I KILL GIANTS in 2016 and is currently working on his next feature.
Today we are here to discuss his new short film, IVALU. It is based on an acclaimed graphic novel by the same name, shares a story of a young girl deeply impacted by the disappearance of her sister.
This heartfelt film was shot in the stunning icy scenery of Greenland and has now been nominated for an Academy Award in the “Best Live Action Short” category.

Oscar Winning Short Film ”An Irish Goodbye” with Ross White / Tom Berkeley

Filmmaking duo Tom Berkeley and Ross White began working as a partnership in 2018, they co-founded Floodlight Pictures as a vehicle through which to mount their filmmaking projects.
HBO acquired their debut short film, ROY, which was shortlisted for Best British Short Film at the 75th BAFTA Awards. The film starred BAFTA winner David Bradley and Academy Award winner Rachel Shenton.
Their new short film, AN IRISH GOODBYE marks the duo’s second collaboration, the screenplay for which was the inaugural winner of the First Flights Short Film Fund.
An Irish Goodbye has played at over 60 international film festivals across 6 continents and has also qualified for BAFTA and IFTA consideration.
And now An Irish Goodbye has been nominated for an Oscar in the “Best Live Action Short Film” category for 2023.
